Chunky blue cheese dressing – Indulgence on a spoon

This recipe for chunky blue cheese dressing is creamy, yet it reminds you that there is some real good blue cheese in it, by finding the right balance between

Somehow, blue cheese is a little bit like goat cheese. Since it’s quite a tangy cheese, you like it or you just don’t. More often than not, it’s an acquired taste. You seldomly find kids that are very fond of it. I certainly wasn’t. Now, I still don’t really care for it, except when it comes to blue cheese dressing. It is somehow it’s very own category.

This dressing only requires 5 minutes of preperation time, this makes it totally worth it to completely ditch the ready-made sauce for this one.

Chunky blue cheese dressing is extremely versatile. While you can obviously have it as a delicious dip for your Buffalo chicken bites or wings, it’s also a great rich and creamy dressing for salads.

How to prepare chunky blue cheese dressing

I highly recommend using a smoothie maker or a blender. Thereby you have the best outcome.

First, add the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, white vinegar, mustard and garlic powder to a bowl (or your smoothie maker) and mix everything with a blender until the sauce have a smooth creamy consistancy.

Then add the cumbled blue cheese and let the blender rotate a few times. Thereby you make sure the blue cheese in your chunky blue cheese dressing is in fact still chunky enough, but that the taste still infuses the rest of the dressing enough.

If you prefer your dressing really chunky, simply whisk the blue cheese bits in with a spatula.

Make sure to allow the dressing to chill in the fridge for about an hour. This makes sure the different flavors of the dressing can fully unite and create a wonderful tasty experience for you.
