It's soul food sunday ❤ Time for a batch of fudgy brownies. The perfect brownie for me is fudgy and chewy, but not too dense. No one wants to feel like they ate a bunch of rocks. I recommend using cacao instead of melted chocolate. It makes the brownies fudgier. I also found it advantageous to use two types or sugar. Brown sugar adds to that amazing fudginess. White sugar however makes the brownies chewy. I also always melt the butter, as it allows for the sugars and the butter to blend nicely and thus create a better end result. So here is my "what the fudge" brownie recipe... For the brownies: - 1/2 cup of melted butter - 1 tbs of vegetable oil - 2/3 cup of white sugar - 1/2 cup of brown sugar - 2 eggs - 1/2 cup of cacao powder - 1/2 cup of flour - 1/4 tsp of salt For the frosting: - 1 cup of ricotta cheese - 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of melted milk chocolate Start by mixing the melted butter, vegetable oil and both sugars. Afterwards whisk in the eggs until the dough is smooth. Then add the cacao, flour and salt. Bake for 25 min at 350 °F/175°C in the preheated oven. While the brownie is in the oven, prepare the frosting, by simply mixing the ricotta with melted chocolate. It's not super sweet, but I think it works best without extra sugar given the uber sweetness of the brownie.
